Paul Polman is the co-founder of imagine and former CEO of Unilever. In this session Polman will cover important topics from his book Net Positive: How Courageous Companies Thrive by Giving More Than They Take. Society’s expectations of business have changed more in the past two years than in the previous 20, due to a confluence of factors including the pandemic, an increase in natural disasters, attacks on democracy, and more. Both practically and morally, corporate leaders can no longer sit on the sidelines of major societal shifts or treat human and planetary issues as “someone else’s problem.” Business leaders must play an active role in addressing our biggest shared challenges.
